OKD started in kitchen retail, where design demand never really slows down, especially when multiple locations, multiple designers, and multiple salespeople all need work turned around fast.

Back then, the same problems showed up again and again: designs taking too long to get out, packages looking different depending on who touched them, sales teams waiting on updates, and too much time going into leads that were never going to buy.

The answer wasn’t “work harder.” It was building a better system.

A centralized, process-driven design team brought structure to the chaos: standardized intake, pre-design checks, and consistent package outputs that sales teams could actually rely on. First-pass concepts moved faster, early pricing direction got easier to communicate, and the back-and-forth that drags projects out started to disappear.

That internal workflow became OKD.

Today, OKD runs that same “designed to sell” process for cabinet teams across North America, behind the scenes, white-labeled, and built around speed, consistency, and clarity.
